Marcy and Chef Scott shop local farmers markets and ethnic shops to conceive and customize each and every wedding, mitzvah, corporate event, and life celebration. Every event is a culmination of a journey and a moment to stop and celebrate life's achievements.  It is their pleasure to help bring your visions to life.  If you can dream it, they can create it.

For the past 16+ years as an influential Catering Director, Marcy was responsible for creating thousands of weddings, mitzvahs and life cycle events, fundraisers and corporate events.  She creates a personalized celebration for each and every client. She is the master in the “Art of Hospitality.”

 

After attending Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona, Chef Scott returned home to Los Angeles to further his craft. After working for various catering companies and restaurants; he decided to embark on a culinary journey aboard a cruise ship to learn about regional cuisine, see the world, and experience new flavors. While working on the high seas;  Chef Scott lead cooking demonstrations, classes, and private wine tasting dinners bringing his unique take on food to his guests. Chef Scott returned to Los Angeles using his new techniques and flavor profiles which have become his signature

“Chef Scott Style”.  Chef Scott looks forward to bringing you amazing culinary events and he firmly believes,  "Cook with love, and your guests will taste the difference."

Growing up in Chicago, Marcy was exposed to everything from fine dining to enjoying the famous “Chicago Style Hot Dogs”. Marcy combines all her experiences to artfully create a wide variety of events for her clients.  

Marcy’s passion for cooking and love of entertaining stemmed from her Nana Millie's Jewish Deli and comforting Hungarian specialties. Holiday gatherings were always large events. Many of the ingredients came from the backyard family garden. Marcy learned at Nana’s side from preparing the chicken soup to devouring the cheesecake. This love for sharing homemade delicacies is something Marcy continues to bring to her catering.

Marcy spent many hours in Temple with her Grandpa Joe who was the “Shamus”.  She was struck by his devotion to the community.  These memories continue to feed her strong sense of spirituality and tradition. Grandpa Joe’s specialty was brining cucumbers in huge wooden barrels in his basement. He created more than just your average dill pickle, instilling a realization in Marcy that food is meant to be more than simply eaten.   

Marcy’s pride and joy is Dan, her wonderful husband of 30 years, along with her great kids, Jake and Emilia and their 3 dogs. Traveling and experiencing different cultures is a life long passion that has also influenced her creativity.

Marcy brings all these experiences together in her unique “Marcy Style”. She and Executive Chef Scott have begun their journey with Cielo Catering + Events. They set out to create seasonally inspired menus and amazing food. Their dedication and passion is to deliver an unforgettable event and promise that with Cielo, “THE SKY’S THE LIMIT!”
